FIFA announced on 27 October that it will conduct World Cup 2030 venue visits across Morocco, Portugal and Spain during November and December 2026.
- Venue visits in November and December 2026 across all three co-host countries
- Six Moroccan cities included: Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Marrakech, Rabat and Tangier
- A FIFA delegation comprising representatives from key functional areas will conduct the visits
- Inspections will assess readiness, operational plans and proposed tournament infrastructure
- FIFA may also visit additional venues beyond those listed
The six Moroccan candidate cities
- Agadir
- Casablanca
- Fez
- Marrakech
- Rabat
- Tangier
The same announcement lists seven cities in Spain (Barcelona, Bilbao, Las Palmas, Madrid, San Sebastián, Seville and Zaragoza) and two in Portugal (Lisbon and Porto). The full candidate list covers fifteen cities across the three countries.
More than a stadium inspection
FIFA's delegation will meet local, regional and national authorities, stadium operators, transport and mobility stakeholders, accommodation providers and other delivery partners.
For readers planning a future trip, that wider scope is relevant. A visitor's experience will depend on the journey between airport, accommodation and stadium, as well as the venue itself. MoroccoPassport's stadiums tracker and transport tracker will continue to distinguish services already operating from construction projects and announced targets.
What remains undecided
These visits are part of the venue-selection process. They are not an announcement of the final venue list. FIFA states that the number and type of matches at each location will be decided only once host cities have been confirmed and as part of determining the match schedule. The announcement does not award the World Cup final to Casablanca or any other city, and it gives no city-by-city inspection dates. FIFA also notes it may visit additional venues beyond those listed.
What travellers should do now
This announcement is useful for following preparations, but it is not a match itinerary. Readers considering a future trip should wait for official venue and scheduling information before making any commitments tied to specific matches.
MoroccoPassport will update its stadiums tracker and transport tracker when further decisions or documented milestones are announced. For a full overview of Morocco's hosting preparations, see the Football 2030 gateway.
