The 77th FIFA Congress will be held on Thursday, 18 March 2027. It will take place in Rabat, Morocco. And it will be an electoral Congress at which Infantino intends to stand for re-election.

A separate virtual Extraordinary FIFA Congress is also scheduled for Monday, 23 November 2026. That meeting is intended solely to appoint the hosts of the 2031 and 2035 editions of the FIFA Women's World Cup and is described by FIFA as a stand-alone event.
Beyond those three facts — city, date and electoral purpose — FIFA has not published an agenda for the Rabat Congress. The specific venue within Rabat, the full programme of business and any subsidiary decisions have not been announced.
Why the Rabat Congress Matters for Morocco
The institutional significance of the choice is clear. Hosting the 77th FIFA Congress will place Morocco at the centre of international football governance during the preparations for the 2030 World Cup. Rwanda hosted Africa's first elective FIFA Congress in Kigali in March 2023, where Gianni Infantino was re-elected. Will FIFA Announce the 2030 Final Venue in Rabat?
There is currently no official confirmation that FIFA will announce the venue of the 2030 World Cup final at the Rabat Congress.
Reports connecting the Rabat meeting to a formal announcement about the final have circulated since the Vancouver Congress. Some have presented such an announcement as likely or expected. As of the date of this article, none of those reports cite an official FIFA statement, a published agenda item or a formal decision by the joint organising structure for Morocco, Portugal and Spain.
A Congress brings together FIFA's member associations and creates natural conditions for informal discussion. Lobbying for match allocation, including the final, will almost certainly take place in Rabat. Private conversations between officials, federation presidents and host-country representatives are not the same as a formal agenda item leading to a binding decision.
